Chair Yoga
Debbie Hallowell has been a Yoga practitioner for over 15 years, trained in many levels of yoga. All levels of skills welcome.
Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Open Gym at the Armory
Walking: Get your steps in! One time around the court is about 200 steps. Its warm and the floor is a safe and smooth surface. We are open to those 50+ only on Tuesday and Thursday mornings 8:00 to 9:00.
Tuesday mornings will have an extra challenge added if you wish to take part.
Gym Floor: You have access to the floor to play basket ball, corn hole..... Ask Stephanie about it she'll be there to demonstrate!

Tai Chi Classes
"Tai chi is a form of ancient Chinese martial arts that is rooted in slow and deliberate movements that are low impact. These gentle movements can be perfect for seniors who want to avoid heavy stress on their bones and joints. Scientists have called tai chi “the preferred mode of training” for seniors. Studies have found tai chi to be responsible for lower blood pressure, increased strength and improved artery function." 1MedicareAdvantage
Coach Andrew Rasmussen will instruct in the practices of Tai Chi. It is a system of calisthenics in a sequence of very slow movements.
All levels welcome!

Bates College Walking Club: The Lewiston Recreation Age Friendly program is excited to announce another collaboration year with Bates College. In an effort to promote healthy lifestyles the goal of this program is to encourage the area 50+ population to take advantage of the outdoors, get some exercise and eat healthy.
The Summer Walking Group will start June 11th-July 16th Tuesdays 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 am. There are 6 sessions in this series. Those who choose to can end the sessions at Bates Dining Commons to take advantage of their brunch menu for $10.
We will meet at Bates College Campus on the right side of the Dining Services building and walk throughout the campus. Stephanie will lead a slower paced walk with available seating if needed.
