Join our Coaching Team! Youth Sports Volunteers are the heart of our programs. Join our coaching team to help us foster a positive and supportive environment for our young athletes. Volunteer coaches will receive a FREE player registration for overseeing a team. - Volunteers Needed: Teams for 1st - 6th grade need a Head Coach assigned prior to the start of practices.
Pre-K Ballers (1/8 Update: Program is full)
Dates: Fridays, January 9th - February 13th
Times: Choose between a 4:30pm - 5:15pm or 5:15pm - 6:00pm practice.
Location: Lewiston Armory Gymnasium - 65 Central Ave, Lewiston
Cost: $55.00 Lewiston Resident, $65.00 Non-Resident
Equipment: Comfortable clothes, sneakers, and a water bottle.
Description: Pre-K Ballers Basketball uses a "Smart Start" format to introduce young athletes to basketball through fun skill stations and mini-games. Adult participation on the court is required. Players receive a Lewiston Recreation basketball shirt!

Kinder Hoops Basketball
Dates: Saturdays, January 3rd - February 7th
Times: 8:00am - 8:50am
Location: Lewiston Armory Gymnasium - 65 Central Ave, Lewiston
Cost: $55.00 Lewiston Resident, $65.00 Non-Resident
Equipment: Comfortable clothes, sneakers, and a water bottle.
Description: Your child will learn basic basketball skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Each session includes 20 minutes of practice and a 20-minute 4 vs. 4 game. Players receive a Lewiston Recreation basketball shirt.
Volunteer Coaches: Coaches receive weekly practice plans and support from Lewiston Recreation staff. Games are officiated by our staff. Interested in volunteering? Email Stephan Samba at ssamba@lewistonmaine.gov. As a thank you, coaches get a free registration and a coaching shirt!

1st & 2nd Grade Co-Ed Basketball (12/10 Update: Program is full)
Practice Dates: Tuesdays, December 9th - February 3rd.
Practice Times: Choose between a 5:00pm or 6:00pm practice start time.
Game Dates: Saturdays January 3rd - February 7th.
Game Times: Mix of 9:00am & 10:00am game times.
Location: Practices & home games will be at the Lewiston Armory - 65 Central Ave. NEW this season, we are scheduling games with Sabattus Rec Club! Teams may have one away game scheduled in Sabattus.
Cost: $65.00 Lewiston Resident, $75.00 Non-Resident
Equipment: Comfortable clothes, sneakers, and a water bottle.
Description: Twice a week program with practices & games. Game play will be 4 vs. 4 and may progress to 5 vs 5 depending on player development. Your child will learn the FUNdamentals of basketball. Players will receive a Lewiston Recreation basketball shirt.

Team Evaluations: Thursday, November 20th @ 5:00pm at the Lewiston Armory. Evaluations help create balanced teams for the season.
Practice Dates: Wednesdays, December 3rd - February 4th.
Practice Times: Teams will be assigned a 6:00pm or 7:00pm practice time after team evaluations.
Practice Location: Connors Elementary School, 400 Bartlett Street
Game Dates: Saturdays, January 3rd - February 7th.
Game Times: Between 10:00am - 1:00pm
Games Locations: Lewiston Armory Gymnasium - 65 Central Ave, Lewiston.
Cost: $70.00 Lewiston Resident, $80.00 Non-Resident
