Lewiston Recreation Department offers 2 seasons of track & field for boys and girls grades Kindergarten to 9th grade (Age 5-15)! Please look below about registration deadlines, practice dates, picture day dates & competition meet dates. 

Track & Field FUNdamentals - Spring Season: Registration Deadline: Apr. 19th, 2024
Travel Track & Field - Summer Season: Registration Deadline: June 2nd, 2024


Join our Coaching Team! Youth Sports Volunteers are the heart of our programs. Join our coaching team to help us foster a positive and supportive environment for our young athletes. Volunteer coaches will receive a FREE program registration, an account credit or a refund for overseeing a team. Track & Field FUNdamentals - Spring Season

Dates: Week of April 22nd to Week of May 27th, Monday's & Tuesday's only (Week of May 27th will be Tuesday & Wednesday due to Memorial Day)
Time: 5:30PM-6:30PM
Location: Lewiston High School Track, closer to the Colisee on Birch Street
Cost: $45 Res. /$55 Non-Res.
Equipment: Comfortable clothes, running shoes & water bottle
Description: This program serves as an introduction of the basics of Track & Field. They will be introduced to techniques, drills & games associated with running and field events each week. Participants will learn conditioning workouts to help make cardiovascular training more enjoyable and benefit all athletes in any sport.

Travel Track & Field: Summer Season

Age: In order to know your child's age eligibility, the program goes by what age your child is by Dec. 31st, 2024. If your child turns 6 by that date, they may participate. If your child is 10 at beginning of the season , but turns 11 in September, they should be registered for the 11-15 age group. If you are 15 and competed at the High School level in the Spring, you are not allowed to compete at the Summer Meets.
Practice Dates: Week of June 10th to week of August 5th, Monday's & Wednesday's Only (The week of July 4th may change due to holiday being on Thursday and meets are normally on Thursday)
Practice Times: Ages 6-10 will practice 5:00PM-6:15PM; Age 11-15 will practice 6:00PM-7:15PM
Practice Location: All practices are at the Lewiston High School Track closest to the Colisee on Birch Street
Cost: $60 Res. /$70 Non-Res.
Equipment: Comfortable clothes, running shoes, water bottle
Competition Meet Days, Locations, & Times: 
     - June 27th @ Poland High School; 2PM Start
     - July 3rd @ Lisbon High School; 2PM Start
     - July 11th @ Mt. Ararat High School (Topsham); 10AM Start
     - July 18th @ Home (Lewiston High School); 2PM Start
     - July 25th @ EL High School (Auburn); 10AM Start
     - Aug 1st (Regional Meet) @ EL High School (Auburn); 10AM Start
     - State Meet: Location TBD; Date is likely Aug. 10th
USATF Membership: If your child(ren) plans to compete in the track meets, you will need to get/renew a USATF Youth Membership per child and it costs $30/membership.

Description: Summer Track & Field season consists of 2 practices a week along with competition meets on Thursdays starting late June to early August. Participants will work on which events they like and/or will compete on each week of practices by learning different techniques and where cardiovascular training becomes is made to be more enjoyable. Participants do not have to compete in the meets if they dont want, however, if they do decide to compete, a USATF Youth Membership is needed as mentioned above.
