Registration for Lewiston Recreation Counselors In Training 2025 will open on Monday, February 3rd! 

Counselors-in-Training (CITs) will join us for 7 weeks this Summer where they will aid and assist Camp Counselors in the execution of camp activities, field trips, and engage with campers in our Kinder-2nd & 3rd - 5th grade camps. Each week, the CITs & the CIT Director will go over different ways on how to become a proper counselor, learn how to run an activity, and how to problem solve different situations.

Participants: Boys & Girls who will be entering 9th or 10th grade in Fall 2025
Dates: June 23rd - August 8th (No Camp July 4th)
Time: 7:30am - 5:30pm
Location: Lewiston Armory - 65 Central Ave, Lewiston 
Registration Fees: A $100 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of registration. The balance must be paid in full by Friday, June 20th. If you need to make a payment plan, or would like to know more about scholarship opportunities, please scroll below for more information!

What to Bring? To have a great day at camp please come prepared and pack accordingly. 
- CIT Shirt - Will be handed out at Information Night. 
- Comfortable clothing. 
- Sneakers. Crocs and sandals are great for water days/trips. 
- Lunch (if not participating in the school nutrition program)
- Snacks
- Water bottle
- Change of clothes
- Towel and swim attire 

School Nutrition Program: CITs can participate in the School Nutrition Program which provides free breakfast and lunch all summer long! 

Medical Authorization Form: This form is available here, below under "Additional Forms and Files", or you can pick one up in our main office. To administer any type of medication (prescription or over the counter medications) we must have a signed “Medical Authorization Form” on file. Prescription medications must be in their original bottle with the current pharmacist label on it. Lewiston Recreation does not have a trained medical professional on staff. Should your child need to take medication at camp, it will be self-administered with the assistance of the CIT Director, Summer Camp Lead or a Senior Staff member. The staff will document when the medication is administered. If you have any questions regarding our medication policy, please contact Lewiston Recreation at 207-513-3005. 

Payment Plans: To help with the registration fee, we are happy to assist with setting up a payment plan. Please contact Nicole Welch at nwelch@lewistonmaine.gov to start the payment plan process.

Scholarships:  The City of Lewiston Recreation Department strives to make programs available to all. Our goal is to never deny access to recreation programs regardless of economic status.
