Ready to roll? Skateboarding 101 is perfect for beginners and experienced skaters looking to build confidence and improve their skills. Participants will learn basic skateboarding techniques, develop balance and coordination, and practice safe riding skills in a supportive environment.
Skaters will start by building and refining their skills in the Lewiston Armory back parking lot, then take those skills on the road by visiting local skate spots like our very own Kennedy Park Skate Park. Come learn, ride, and have fun!
Meet the Coach: Skateboarding 101 is led by Coach Jalen, a trained local instructor and lifelong skater from Lewiston. Jalen coached our first skateboarding program in 2024 and is passionate about helping youth build confidence on and off the board. Coach has also completed skateboarding training with the New England Skateboard Association and First Push Syndicate’s "Get on Board" program.
