Youth Football: Spring Skills & Drills Clinics - Spring Football Clinic: 1st-4th Grade
Lewiston Recreation Department along with LHS Football, LMS Football, Lewiston Area Youth Football are teaming up once again this Spring for the 4 week Spring Football clinics.This will be a 4 week clinic style program where the coaches will work with the kids through skills & drills of football along with 2 hand touch scrimmaging as well. There will be two grade groups: 1st to 4th grade & 5th-8th grade.- When: Sundays only, May 10th to June 7th (Skip Memorial Day Weekend)- Where: Lewiston High School Don Roux Football Field- Cost: $30 Residents/ $35 Non-Residents- Time: 1st to 4th Grade: 9AM-10:30AM 5th to 8th Grade: 10:30AM-12PM- Equipment: Comfortable clothes, water bottle, running shoes/cleats- All participants will receive a clinic shirt.

Lewiston Recreation Department offers 2 seasons of track & field for boys and girls grades Kindergarten to 9th grade (Age 5-15)! Track & Field FUNdamentals - Spring Season: Registration Deadline: Apr. 21st, 2026Travel Track & Field - Summer Season: Registration Deadline: June 4th, 2026Join our Coaching Team! Youth Sports Volunteers are the heart of our programs. Join our coaching team to help us foster a positive and supportive environment for our young athletes. Volunteer coaches will receive a FREE program registration, an account credit or a refund for overseeing a team. If you are interested in coaching, please contact Tim Duchette, Recreation Building Aide at TDuchette@lewistonmaine.gov.Track & Field FUNdamentals - Spring SeasonDates: Week of April 27th to Week of June 1st, Monday's & Tuesday's only (Week of May 11th will be Monday & Wednesdays due to LMS Track Meet; Week of May 25th will be Tuesday & Wednesday due to Memorial Day)Time: 5:30PM-6:30PMGrades: Kindergarten to 6th GradeLocation: Lewiston High School Track, 195 Birch St. Lewiston, MECost: $50 Res. /$60 Non-Res.Equipment: Comfortable clothes, running shoes & water bottleDescription: This program serves as an introduction of the basics of Track & Field. They will be introduced to techniques, drills & games associated with running and field events each week. Participants will learn conditioning workouts to help make cardiovascular training more enjoyable and benefit all athletes in any sport.Travel Track & Field: Summer SeasonAge: In order to know your child's age eligibility, the program goes by what age your child is by Dec. 31st, 2026. If your child turns 6 by that date, they may participate. If your child is 10 at beginning of the season, but turns 11 in September, they should be registered for the 11-15 age group. If you have competed at the High School level in the Spring, you are not allowed to compete at the Summer Meets.Practice Dates: Week of June 8th to week of August 3rd, Monday's & Tuesday's Only Practice Times: Ages 6-10 will practice 5:00PM-6:15PM; Ages 11-15 will practice 6:00PM-7:15PMPractice Location: All practices are at the Lewiston High School Track, 195 Birch St. Lewiston, MECost: $70 Res. /$80 Non-Res.Equipment: Comfortable clothes, running shoes, water bottleCompetition Meet Days, Locations, & Times: - June 25th @ Poland High School: Start Time: 2PM - July 2nd @ Lisbon High School: Start Time: 2PM - July 9th @ Mt. Ararat High School: Start Time: 10AM - July 16th @ Edward Little High School: Start Time: 2PM - July 23rd @ Freeport High School: Start Time: 4PM - July 30th (Regional Meet) @ Lewiston High School:Start Time: 10AM - Aug. 8th (State Meet) @ Cony High School (Augusta); 9AM StartUSATF Membership: If your child(ren) plans to compete in the track meets, you will need to get/renew a USATF Youth Membership per child and it costs $35/membership.Click here for USATF Membership Link.Description: Summer Track & Field season consists of 2 practices a week along with competition meets on Thursdays starting late June to early August. Participants will work on which events they like and/or will compete on each week of practices by learning different techniques and where cardiovascular training becomes is made to be more enjoyable. Participants do not have to compete in the meets if they dont want, however, if they do decide to compete, a USATF Youth Membership is needed as mentioned above.
