Welcome to the Lewiston Senior Citizens Program page! We are a private organization governed by a volunteer board of directors. Our activities happen at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave. in the Senior Center. Included with our annual membership fee are activities which are listed below as well as a monthly newsletter. TRAIN RIDE – Tuesday August 5, 2025 (FULL-Wait list available)Enjoy a train ride and a sampling of Maine made drinks on August 5, 2025 as we travel to Alna, Maine and board the Wiscasset, Waterville and Farmington Railway. We will leave the Lewiston Park and Ride at 8:30 a.m. for the train ride which will also give you the chance to see the museum and their store. After the train ride we will travel to the Taste of Maine in Woolwich for lunch on your own. We then go to the Maine Tasting Center to learn about Maine drinks. You will get to taste beer, cider, mead, wine and a spirit. We should be home around 4:30 p.m. The cost is $115.00 which includes the bus, train, tasting and tip for the bus driver. This trip is limited to 40 people and the deadline to sign up is July 3, 3025.OGUNQUIT PLAYHOUSE – Wednesday, September 24, 2025 (FULL-Wait list available)We will leave the Lewiston Park and Ride at 12 noon and head straight to the playhouse to see “When Elvis Met the Beatles”. After the play we will travel to the Clambake for dinner on your own. Should be home around 7 p.m. The cost is $110.00 which includes play, bus and driver tip. Deadline to sign up is 8/22/252025 Gardens Aglow-Dec. 5th Join us on Friday, December 5, 2025 for a trip to Boothbay's Gardens Aglow. This is a great way to get in the holiday spirit. We will leave the Lewiston Park and Ride at 3:15 p.m. and head to the Taste of Maine for dinner on your own. From there we will go to the Gardens Aglow for our scheduled time. We should be back in Lewiston around 9:30 p.m. The cost is $65.00 per person and includes the bus, entrance to the Gardens and the bus driver's tip. All Links to register are below. Lewiston Senior Citizens Program Cancellation Policy: If the LSC trip cancellation is more than 14 days away from the date, a refund is given minus a $10 administration service charge. The 2.5% credit card use charge is nonrefundable.If the cancellation is within the 14-day period of the trip date without medical reason, there will be no refund. If LSC fills the spot with someone on the waitlist, reimbursement may be available. Trips are non-transferable. Online Registration Information:-You do not need to be a LSC member to register for day trips. You must have an account set up in MY Rec to register online. If you are a 2024 LSC Member there is an account set up for you already.-Click on the trip you are choosing. Follow each step carefully when you get to completing your purchases you'll have 2 options. Option 1: A complete online registration to purchase a trip or membership is only available by credit card purchase.Option 2: If you want to register online but not use a credit card you can do this but your seat is not reserved until approved by Lewiston Rec staff. Games at the Armory - Casual Cribbage
DROP IN GAMES (Registration not required) Join us to play Canasta, Casual Cribbage, UNO or something of your choosing! All levels welcome and we'll teach you if you are new to the game! These games are "drop in" and registration is NOT required. CanastaEvery Monday. The Senior Room/Drill Room is available for you to use to join us in Canasta or other games if you choose. Day: Monday Time: 1:00 to 3:00.Casual Cribbage GameWe are starting a Casual Cribbage time for the 50 + population.This is being offered for those who want to learn how to play cribbage or just want to casually play a game and have a few laughs! The Age Friendly Guide to this game is John Miller, who has many years of playing Cribbage experience. We will supply the cards and the cribs. DROP IN GAMES (Registration not required) Join us to play Canasta, Casual Cribbage, UNO or something of your choosing! All levels welcome and we'll teach you if you are new to the game! These games are "drop in" and registration is NOT required. CanastaEvery Monday. The Senior Room/Drill Room is available for you to use to join us in Canasta or other games if you choose. Age Friendly Activities are open to any 50+ person and no membership is required to participate. Monthly Evening Dessert & DiscussFREE for any 50+ Lewiston Residents and surrounding areas!A new collaboration with AARP aims to create discussions and education on different topics that are important to the over 50 population. These 1 hour seminars will be on Wednesday of each month from 5:30 to 6:30 PM, in the Senior Room at the Lewiston Armory,65 Central Ave. Lewiston.Dessert is provided by AARP 9/24/25 Lisa Roy: National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)Lisa Roy affiliate president will discuss what resources are availble for all ages populations to keep our mental health in check. Our activities happen at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave. in the Senior Center. Included with our annual membership fee are activities which are listed below as well as a monthly newsletter. We will leave the Lewiston Park and Ride at 8:30 a.m. for the train ride which will also give you the chance to see the museum and their store. After the train ride we will travel to the Taste of Maine in Woolwich for lunch on your own. We then go to the Maine Tasting Center to learn about Maine drinks. You will get to taste beer, cider, mead, wine and a spirit. We should be home around 4:30 p.m. The cost is $115.00 which includes the bus, train, tasting and tip for the bus driver. This trip is limited to 40 people and the deadline to sign up is July 3, 3025.OGUNQUIT PLAYHOUSE – Wednesday, September 24, 2025 (FULL-Wait list available)We will leave the Lewiston Park and Ride at 12 noon and head straight to the playhouse to see “When Elvis Met the Beatles”. After the play we will travel to the Clambake for dinner on your own. Should be home around 7 p.m. The cost is $110.00 which includes play, bus and driver tip. Deadline to sign up is 8/22/252025 Gardens Aglow-Dec. 5th Join us on Friday, December 5, 2025 for a trip to Boothbay's Gardens Aglow. This is a great way to get in the holiday spirit. We will leave the Lewiston Park and Ride at 3:15 p.m. and head to the Taste of Maine for dinner on your own. From there we will go to the Gardens Aglow for our scheduled time. We should be back in Lewiston around 9:30 p.m. The cost is $65.00 per person and includes the bus, entrance to the Gardens and the bus driver's tip. All Links to register are below. The 2.5% credit card use charge is nonrefundable.If the cancellation is within the 14-day period of the trip date without medical reason, there will be no refund. If LSC fills the spot with someone on the waitlist, reimbursement may be available. Trips are non-transferable. Online Registration Information:-You do not need to be a LSC member to register for day trips. You must have an account set up in MY Rec to register online. If you are a 2024 LSC Member there is an account set up for you already.-Click on the trip you are choosing. Follow each step carefully when you get to completing your purchases you'll have 2 options.
