In an effort to promote healthy lifestyles the goal of this program is to encourage the area 50+ population to take advantage of the outdoors, get some exercise and eat healthy.Time:The Bates Walking Group will start walking again Friday Sept.5th until mid Oct. at 10:00 to 11:00. Location:We will meet at Bates College Campus on the right side of the Dining Services building at the red picnic tables and walk throughout the campus. Stephanie will lead a slower paced walk with available seating if needed.Those who choose to can end the sessions at Bates Dining Commons to take advantage of their lunch menu for $12. From there we will go to the Gardens Aglow for our scheduled time. We should be back in Lewiston around 9:30 p.m. The cost is $65.00 per person and includes the bus, entrance to the Gardens and the bus driver's tip. DROP IN GAMES (Registration not required) Join us to play Canasta, Casual Cribbage, UNO or something of your choosing! All levels welcome and we'll teach you if you are new to the game! These games are "drop in" and registration is NOT required. CanastaEvery Monday. The Senior Room/Drill Room is available for you to use to join us in Canasta or other games if you choose. Day: Monday Time: 1:00 to 3:00.Casual Cribbage GameWe are starting a Casual Cribbage time for the 50 + population.This is being offered for those who want to learn how to play cribbage or just want to casually play a game and have a few laughs! 2025-2026 Lewiston Envy Recreation Cheering TeamsTumble, Jump, and Cheer! Keep your rising athlete engaged in cheering in the off-season. Lewiston Cheer Envy's Recreation Cheering Program will work on a series of tumbling, stunting, and dances that will keep your child active all season long while gearing up for competitions in Maine.Please send your child with comfortable clothes, sneakers, and a water bottle. Teen Adventure Days - Nightmare on the Ridge at Wallingford's Farm October 17th
Teen Adventure Days? What's that? Every month, Lewiston Recreation Staff will provide Lewiston teens on a series of one day adventures and events! Let the adventure begin! 10/17/25 Nightmare on the Ridge at Wallingford's Farm Join Tim and Devin for a night full of fun and fright! Participants will meet at the Armory any time after 2:30pm where we will play games and eat dinner (provided by Lewiston Recreation). At 5:30pm we will head over to Wallingford's. Once we have arrived we will walk around the corn maze until Nightmare on the Ridge starts at 7:00pm. From there we will go to the Gardens Aglow for our scheduled time. We should be back in Lewiston around 9:30 p.m. The cost is $65.00 per person and includes the bus, entrance to the Gardens and the bus driver's tip. Halloween Family Puzzle Competition - Family Registration
SO! You think your family is good at puzzles!? Join our Halloween-themed Family Puzzle Competition, hosted by Jack Skellington!All teams will have the same 500 piece Halloween Puzzle that will be wrapped.Teams will have 2.5 hours to complete the puzzleThe team who completes it first, or completes the most of the puzzle at the end of the 2.5 hours wins the grand prize!RulesTeams must have at least one person under the age of 18 on their team, and have no more than 3 adults.No touching other people's puzzles or spaces.No additional tables are allowed. We will have pizza and water available, and all participants will get a Halloween treat to take home. Families will also get to bring their puzzle home!REGISTRATION INFORMATION: Only the adult registering the family needs to register. You will be able to tell us how many people are in your family during the registration process.

In an effort to promote healthy lifestyles the goal of this program is to encourage the area 50+ population to take advantage of the outdoors, get some exercise and eat healthy.Time:The Bates Walking Group will start walking again Friday Sept.5th until mid Oct. at 10:00 to 11:00. Location:We will meet at Bates College Campus on the right side of the Dining Services building at the red picnic tables and walk throughout the campus. Stephanie will lead a slower paced walk with available seating if needed.Those who choose to can end the sessions at Bates Dining Commons to take advantage of their lunch menu for $12. Lewiston Cheer Envy's Recreation Cheering Program will work on a series of tumbling, stunting, and dances that will keep your child active all season long while gearing up for competitions in Maine.Please send your child with comfortable clothes, sneakers, and a water bottle. Location:We will meet at Bates College Campus on the right side of the Dining Services building at the red picnic tables and walk throughout the campus. Stephanie will lead a slower paced walk with available seating if needed.Those who choose to can end the sessions at Bates Dining Commons to take advantage of their lunch menu for $12. Location:We will meet at Bates College Campus on the right side of the Dining Services building at the red picnic tables and walk throughout the campus. Stephanie will lead a slower paced walk with available seating if needed.Those who choose to can end the sessions at Bates Dining Commons to take advantage of their lunch menu for $12. Lewiston Senior Citizens Program Cancellation Policy: If the LSC trip cancellation is more than 14 days away from the date, a refund is given minus a $10 administration service charge. The 2.5% credit card use charge is nonrefundable.If the cancellation is within the 14-day period of the trip date without medical reason, there will be no refund. If LSC fills the spot with someone on the waitlist, reimbursement may be available. Trips are non-transferable. Online Registration Information:-You do not need to be a LSC member to register for day trips. You must have an account set up in MY Rec to register online. If you are a 2024 LSC Member there is an account set up for you already.-Click on the trip you are choosing. Follow each step carefully when you get to completing your purchases you'll have 2 options. Option 1: A complete online registration to purchase a trip or membership is only available by credit card purchase.Option 2: If you want to register online but not use a credit card you can do this but your seat is not reserved until approved by Lewiston Rec staff.
