Welcome to the Lewiston Senior Citizens Program page! We are a private organization governed by a volunteer board of directors. Our activities happen at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave. in the Senior Center. Included with our annual membership fee are activities which are listed below as well as a monthly newsletter. The play "Ain't Too Proud" covers the life and music of the Temptations. We leave the Lewiston Park and Ride at 12 Noon and travel to the playhouse. After the play we head to the Clambake in Scarborough for a meal on your own. The cost per person is $112.00 which covers the bus, play, bus driver's tip. Deadline to sign up is Thursday, April 23, 2026. FOSTER'S CLAMBAKE - WEDNESDAY - JUNE 24, 2026We will leave the Lewiston Park and Ride at 9:30 a.m. and head straight to Foster's Clambake. After our meal we will visit Stonewall Kitchen's large store in York. The cost is $106.00 per person and includes your meal, the bus and driver's tip. When you sign up you need to tell us your meal choice of either lobster, chicken or polenta. Each meal includes clam chowder, steamed clams, mussels, corn on the cob, roasted red potatoes, onion, rolls and blueberry crumb cake. There will be coffee, tea, water and lemonade. A cash bar will also be available. Deadline to sign up is Monday, May 25, 2026. Tall Ships-Monday July 13, 2026 (Full -wait list available) If you have always wanted to see the Tall Ships in Boston Harbor please join us on Monday, July 13, 2026. We will leave the park and ride in Lewiston at 8:15 am and head to CJ Victoria Fishing Charters in Boston. We will board our boat at 11:35 am and sail out to see the Tall Ships. We will return at 1:15 pm and head to the Cheesecake Factory in Cambridge for an included lunch. After lunch we will return home. The cost is $145.00 which includes the bus, the boat, meal at the Cheesecake Factory and bus driver tip. Deadline to sign up is June 4, 2026. Lewiston Senior Citizens Program Cancellation Policy: If the LSC trip cancellation is more than 14 days away from the date, a refund is given minus a $10 administration service charge. The 2.5% credit card use charge is nonrefundable.If the cancellation is within the 14-day period of the trip date without medical reason, there will be no refund. If LSC fills the spot with someone on the waitlist, reimbursement may be available. Trips are non-transferable. Online Registration Information:-You do not need to be a LSC member to register for day trips. You must have an account set up in MY Rec to register online. If you are a 2024 LSC Member there is an account set up for you already.-Click on the trip you are choosing. Follow each step carefully when you get to completing your purchases you'll have 2 options. Option 1: A complete online registration to purchase a trip or membership is only available by credit card purchase.Option 2: If you want to register online but not use a credit card you can do this but your seat is not reserved until approved by Lewiston Rec staff. This is called Pre-registration. When you reach the choice of CHECK OUT ON LINE or PRINT A PRE-REGISTRATION FORM click on Print a pre-registration form. Card Games in the Senior Room - Canasta-Open Games in the Senior Room (Drop in)
DROP IN GAMES (Registration not required) Join us to play Canasta, Casual Cribbage, UNO or something of your choosing! All levels welcome and we'll teach you if you are new to the game! These games are "drop in" and registration is NOT required. (cancelled March 30th)CanastaEvery Monday. The Senior Room/Drill Room is available for you to use to join us in Canasta or other games if you choose. Day: Monday Time: 1:00 to 3:00.Casual Cribbage Game or your game of choosing!The space in the room is being offered for those who want to learn how to play cribbage or just want to casually play a game and have a few laughs! The Age Friendly Guide to this game is John Miller, who has many years of playing Cribbage experience. We will supply the cards and the cribs. Age Friendly activities are open to any person 50+ and no membership is required. These programs have body movement in mind! Debbie Hallowell has been a Yoga practitioner for over 15 years, trained in many levels of yoga and uses the practice of Hatha during sessions at the Armory. In an effort to promote healthy lifestyles the goal of this program is to encourage the area 50+ population to take advantage of the outdoors, get some exercise and eat healthy.Time:The Bates Walking Group will start walking starting in April on Mondays until mid June at 10:00 to 11:00. Location:We will meet at Bates College Campus on the right side of the Dining Services building at the red picnic tables and walk throughout the campus. Stephanie will lead a slower paced walk with available seating if needed.Those who choose to can end the sessions at Bates Dining Commons to take advantage of their lunch menu for $12. Lewiston Senior Citizens Program Cancellation Policy: If the LSC trip cancellation is more than 14 days away from the date, a refund is given minus a $10 administration service charge. If LSC fills the spot with someone on the waitlist, reimbursement may be available. Trips are non-transferable. Our activities happen at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave. in the Senior Center. Included with our annual membership fee are activities which are listed below as well as a monthly newsletter. Sailing Life Solo What is solo aging and why is it important? According to the 2023 Census data for Lewiston residents 65 and older, 23% of men over 65 and 33% of women live alone."As the population ages, it is increasingly necessary to understand the diverse environments and circumstances that influence our health, safety, and wellbeing in later life. One population that remains under-studied is older adults aging without spouses, partners, or close family to provide support, care, or socialization when needed or desired. Using 2018 survey data, AARP estimates that one in eight (12%) adults aged 50 and older in the U.S. are currently aging solo (AARP, 2021). In a 2024 report published by the Mather Institute, it was estimated that, as of 2021, approximately 22.1 million Americans (28%) are aging alone, reflecting an increase since 2018. Much of the solo aging literature calls for better understanding of the challenges, needs, and identities of solo agers, and draws attention to the fact that little thought has been given to how policies and systems can support this growing population" (Camp, 2023a; Camp 2023b; AARP, 2021; Mather Institute, 2024). Eileen Fair, a solo ager and member of the Lewiston Senior Advisory Council,will be the guide of this group. The group will discuss topics that people aging alone or responsible for others aging who are facing the impact of growing older. This group is meant to be an interactive discussion, and topics of interest will be driven by the group. As we age, we encounter challenges and delights. For some of us who are solo agers, that is getting older without a partner, family close by, for example, we can experience a wide range of feelings, moments of being isolated, as well as having the freedom to do things our way! Join us for conversation about how aging alone can affect us in many different ways. Whether you are recently living alone due to the death of a loved one, a divorce, a move to the community or have been on your own for several years, let's explore what solo aging might mean for you. Location:We will meet at Bates College Campus on the right side of the Dining Services building at the red picnic tables and walk throughout the campus. Welcome to the Lewiston Senior Citizens Program page! We are a private organization governed by a volunteer board of directors. Our activities happen at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave. in the Senior Center. Included with our annual membership fee are activities which are listed below as well as a monthly newsletter. The play "Ain't Too Proud" covers the life and music of the Temptations. We leave the Lewiston Park and Ride at 12 Noon and travel to the playhouse. After the play we head to the Clambake in Scarborough for a meal on your own. The cost per person is $112.00 which covers the bus, play, bus driver's tip. Deadline to sign up is Thursday, April 23, 2026. FOSTER'S CLAMBAKE - WEDNESDAY - JUNE 24, 2026We will leave the Lewiston Park and Ride at 9:30 a.m. and head straight to Foster's Clambake. After our meal we will visit Stonewall Kitchen's large store in York. The cost is $106.00 per person and includes your meal, the bus and driver's tip. When you sign up you need to tell us your meal choice of either lobster, chicken or polenta. Each meal includes clam chowder, steamed clams, mussels, corn on the cob, roasted red potatoes, onion, rolls and blueberry crumb cake. There will be coffee, tea, water and lemonade. Tall Ships-Monday July 13, 2026 (Full -wait list available) If you have always wanted to see the Tall Ships in Boston Harbor please join us on Monday, July 13, 2026. We will leave the park and ride in Lewiston at 8:15 am and head to CJ Victoria Fishing Charters in Boston. We will board our boat at 11:35 am and sail out to see the Tall Ships. We will return at 1:15 pm and head to the Cheesecake Factory in Cambridge for an included lunch. After lunch we will return home. The cost is $145.00 which includes the bus, the boat, meal at the Cheesecake Factory and bus driver tip. Deadline to sign up is June 4, 2026. Lewiston Senior Citizens Program Cancellation Policy: If the LSC trip cancellation is more than 14 days away from the date, a refund is given minus a $10 administration service charge. The 2.5% credit card use charge is nonrefundable.If the cancellation is within the 14-day period of the trip date without medical reason, there will be no refund. If LSC fills the spot with someone on the waitlist, reimbursement may be available. Trips are non-transferable. Location:We will meet at Bates College Campus on the right side of the Dining Services building at the red picnic tables and walk throughout the campus. Stephanie will lead a slower paced walk with available seating if needed.Those who choose to can end the sessions at Bates Dining Commons to take advantage of their lunch menu for $12. Lewiston Senior Citizens Program Activities: Games/Activities/Daytrips/Lunches - Cribbage
Welcome to the Lewiston Senior Citizens Program page! We are a private organization governed by a volunteer board of directors. Our activities happen at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave. in the Senior Center. Included with our annual membership fee are activities which are listed below as well as a monthly newsletter. Online registration is available on the link listed under; Programs and Lewiston Senior Citizens Membership. Reminder: If inclement weather occurs LSC activities are cancelled when the Lewiston Public Schools system closes. If there is a 2 hour delay Cribbage and Bingo are cancelled. Registration Opens Feb. 19th, 2026OGUNQUIT PLAYHOUSE - WEDNESDAY, MAY 27, 2026 (FULL wailist only)Join us on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 to enjoy music of the Temptations. The play "Ain't Too Proud" covers the life and music of the Temptations. We leave the Lewiston Park and Ride at 12 Noon and travel to the playhouse. After the play we head to the Clambake in Scarborough for a meal on your own. The cost per person is $112.00 which covers the bus, play, bus driver's tip. Deadline to sign up is Thursday, April 23, 2026. FOSTER'S CLAMBAKE - WEDNESDAY - JUNE 24, 2026We will leave the Lewiston Park and Ride at 9:30 a.m. and head straight to Foster's Clambake. After our meal we will visit Stonewall Kitchen's large store in York. The cost is $106.00 per person and includes your meal, the bus and driver's tip. When you sign up you need to tell us your meal choice of either lobster, chicken or polenta. Each meal includes clam chowder, steamed clams, mussels, corn on the cob, roasted red potatoes, onion, rolls and blueberry crumb cake. There will be coffee, tea, water and lemonade. A cash bar will also be available. Deadline to sign up is Monday, May 25, 2026. Tall Ships-Monday July 13, 2026 (Full -wait list available) If you have always wanted to see the Tall Ships in Boston Harbor please join us on Monday, July 13, 2026. We will leave the park and ride in Lewiston at 8:15 am and head to CJ Victoria Fishing Charters in Boston. We will board our boat at 11:35 am and sail out to see the Tall Ships. We will return at 1:15 pm and head to the Cheesecake Factory in Cambridge for an included lunch. After lunch we will return home. The cost is $145.00 which includes the bus, the boat, meal at the Cheesecake Factory and bus driver tip. Deadline to sign up is June 4, 2026. Lewiston Senior Citizens Program Cancellation Policy: If the LSC trip cancellation is more than 14 days away from the date, a refund is given minus a $10 administration service charge. The 2.5% credit card use charge is nonrefundable.If the cancellation is within the 14-day period of the trip date without medical reason, there will be no refund. If LSC fills the spot with someone on the waitlist, reimbursement may be available. Trips are non-transferable. Online Registration Information:-You do not need to be a LSC member to register for day trips. You must have an account set up in MY Rec to register online. If you are a 2024 LSC Member there is an account set up for you already.-Click on the trip you are choosing. Follow each step carefully when you get to completing your purchases you'll have 2 options. Option 1: A complete online registration to purchase a trip or membership is only available by credit card purchase.Option 2: If you want to register online but not use a credit card you can do this but your seat is not reserved until approved by Lewiston Rec staff. This is called Pre-registration. When you reach the choice of CHECK OUT ON LINE or PRINT A PRE-REGISTRATION FORM click on Print a pre-registration form. Debbie Hallowell has been a Yoga practitioner for over 15 years, trained in many levels of yoga and uses the practice of Hatha during sessions at the Armory. In an effort to promote healthy lifestyles the goal of this program is to encourage the area 50+ population to take advantage of the outdoors, get some exercise and eat healthy.Time:The Bates Walking Group will start walking starting in April on Mondays until mid June at 10:00 to 11:00. Location:We will meet at Bates College Campus on the right side of the Dining Services building at the red picnic tables and walk throughout the campus. Stephanie will lead a slower paced walk with available seating if needed.Those who choose to can end the sessions at Bates Dining Commons to take advantage of their lunch menu for $12. We will leave the park and ride in Lewiston at 8:15 am and head to CJ Victoria Fishing Charters in Boston. We will board our boat at 11:35 am and sail out to see the Tall Ships. We will return at 1:15 pm and head to the Cheesecake Factory in Cambridge for an included lunch. After lunch we will return home. The cost is $145.00 which includes the bus, the boat, meal at the Cheesecake Factory and bus driver tip. Deadline to sign up is June 4, 2026. Our activities happen at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave. in the Senior Center. Included with our annual membership fee are activities which are listed below as well as a monthly newsletter. Location:We will meet at Bates College Campus on the right side of the Dining Services building at the red picnic tables and walk throughout the campus. The play "Ain't Too Proud" covers the life and music of the Temptations. We leave the Lewiston Park and Ride at 12 Noon and travel to the playhouse. After the play we head to the Clambake in Scarborough for a meal on your own. The cost per person is $112.00 which covers the bus, play, bus driver's tip. Deadline to sign up is Thursday, April 23, 2026. FOSTER'S CLAMBAKE - WEDNESDAY - JUNE 24, 2026We will leave the Lewiston Park and Ride at 9:30 a.m. and head straight to Foster's Clambake. After our meal we will visit Stonewall Kitchen's large store in York. The cost is $106.00 per person and includes your meal, the bus and driver's tip. When you sign up you need to tell us your meal choice of either lobster, chicken or polenta. Each meal includes clam chowder, steamed clams, mussels, corn on the cob, roasted red potatoes, onion, rolls and blueberry crumb cake. There will be coffee, tea, water and lemonade. A cash bar will also be available. Deadline to sign up is Monday, May 25, 2026. Tall Ships-Monday July 13, 2026 (Full -wait list available) If you have always wanted to see the Tall Ships in Boston Harbor please join us on Monday, July 13, 2026. We will leave the park and ride in Lewiston at 8:15 am and head to CJ Victoria Fishing Charters in Boston. We will board our boat at 11:35 am and sail out to see the Tall Ships. We will return at 1:15 pm and head to the Cheesecake Factory in Cambridge for an included lunch. After lunch we will return home. The cost is $145.00 which includes the bus, the boat, meal at the Cheesecake Factory and bus driver tip. Deadline to sign up is June 4, 2026. Lewiston Senior Citizens Program Cancellation Policy: If the LSC trip cancellation is more than 14 days away from the date, a refund is given minus a $10 administration service charge. The 2.5% credit card use charge is nonrefundable.If the cancellation is within the 14-day period of the trip date without medical reason, there will be no refund. If LSC fills the spot with someone on the waitlist, reimbursement may be available. Trips are non-transferable. Online Registration Information:-You do not need to be a LSC member to register for day trips. You must have an account set up in MY Rec to register online. If you are a 2024 LSC Member there is an account set up for you already.-Click on the trip you are choosing. In an effort to promote healthy lifestyles the goal of this program is to encourage the area 50+ population to take advantage of the outdoors, get some exercise and eat healthy.Time:The Bates Walking Group will start walking starting in April on Mondays until mid June at 10:00 to 11:00. Location:We will meet at Bates College Campus on the right side of the Dining Services building at the red picnic tables and walk throughout the campus. Stephanie will lead a slower paced walk with available seating if needed.Those who choose to can end the sessions at Bates Dining Commons to take advantage of their lunch menu for $12. The play "Ain't Too Proud" covers the life and music of the Temptations. We leave the Lewiston Park and Ride at 12 Noon and travel to the playhouse. After the play we head to the Clambake in Scarborough for a meal on your own. The cost per person is $112.00 which covers the bus, play, bus driver's tip. Deadline to sign up is Thursday, April 23, 2026. FOSTER'S CLAMBAKE - WEDNESDAY - JUNE 24, 2026We will leave the Lewiston Park and Ride at 9:30 a.m. and head straight to Foster's Clambake. After our meal we will visit Stonewall Kitchen's large store in York. The cost is $106.00 per person and includes your meal, the bus and driver's tip. When you sign up you need to tell us your meal choice of either lobster, chicken or polenta. Each meal includes clam chowder, steamed clams, mussels, corn on the cob, roasted red potatoes, onion, rolls and blueberry crumb cake. There will be coffee, tea, water and lemonade. A cash bar will also be available. Deadline to sign up is Monday, May 25, 2026. Tall Ships-Monday July 13, 2026 (Full -wait list available) If you have always wanted to see the Tall Ships in Boston Harbor please join us on Monday, July 13, 2026. We will leave the park and ride in Lewiston at 8:15 am and head to CJ Victoria Fishing Charters in Boston. We will board our boat at 11:35 am and sail out to see the Tall Ships. We will return at 1:15 pm and head to the Cheesecake Factory in Cambridge for an included lunch. After lunch we will return home. The cost is $145.00 which includes the bus, the boat, meal at the Cheesecake Factory and bus driver tip. Deadline to sign up is June 4, 2026. Lewiston Senior Citizens Program Cancellation Policy: If the LSC trip cancellation is more than 14 days away from the date, a refund is given minus a $10 administration service charge. The 2.5% credit card use charge is nonrefundable.If the cancellation is within the 14-day period of the trip date without medical reason, there will be no refund. If LSC fills the spot with someone on the waitlist, reimbursement may be available. Trips are non-transferable. Online Registration Information:-You do not need to be a LSC member to register for day trips. You must have an account set up in MY Rec to register online. If you are a 2024 LSC Member there is an account set up for you already.-Click on the trip you are choosing. Follow each step carefully when you get to completing your purchases you'll have 2 options. Card Games in the Senior Room - Canasta-Open Games in the Senior Room (Drop in)
DROP IN GAMES (Registration not required) Join us to play Canasta, Casual Cribbage, UNO or something of your choosing! All levels welcome and we'll teach you if you are new to the game! Lewiston Re-evaluations Informational Seminar - May 11th Session
Join us for an informational session with Bill Healey, Chief Assessor for the City of Lewiston. 1988 was the last year re-evaluations were completed and this seminar is specifically for Lewiston residence to explain the process of revaluation, the new property values and their impact on taxes. A light snack and beverage will be provided. If you'd like to submit your questions before the seminar please do so when you register for the seminar in the registration link below. In an effort to promote healthy lifestyles the goal of this program is to encourage the area 50+ population to take advantage of the outdoors, get some exercise and eat healthy.Time:The Bates Walking Group will start walking starting in April on Mondays until mid June at 10:00 to 11:00. Location:We will meet at Bates College Campus on the right side of the Dining Services building at the red picnic tables and walk throughout the campus. Stephanie will lead a slower paced walk with available seating if needed.Those who choose to can end the sessions at Bates Dining Commons to take advantage of their lunch menu for $12. Registration Opens Feb. 19th, 2026OGUNQUIT PLAYHOUSE - WEDNESDAY, MAY 27, 2026 (FULL wailist only)Join us on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 to enjoy music of the Temptations. The play "Ain't Too Proud" covers the life and music of the Temptations. We leave the Lewiston Park and Ride at 12 Noon and travel to the playhouse. After the play we head to the Clambake in Scarborough for a meal on your own. The cost per person is $112.00 which covers the bus, play, bus driver's tip. Deadline to sign up is Thursday, April 23, 2026. FOSTER'S CLAMBAKE - WEDNESDAY - JUNE 24, 2026We will leave the Lewiston Park and Ride at 9:30 a.m. and head straight to Foster's Clambake. After our meal we will visit Stonewall Kitchen's large store in York. The cost is $106.00 per person and includes your meal, the bus and driver's tip. When you sign up you need to tell us your meal choice of either lobster, chicken or polenta. Each meal includes clam chowder, steamed clams, mussels, corn on the cob, roasted red potatoes, onion, rolls and blueberry crumb cake. There will be coffee, tea, water and lemonade. A cash bar will also be available. Deadline to sign up is Monday, May 25, 2026. Tall Ships-Monday July 13, 2026 (Full -wait list available) If you have always wanted to see the Tall Ships in Boston Harbor please join us on Monday, July 13, 2026. We will leave the park and ride in Lewiston at 8:15 am and head to CJ Victoria Fishing Charters in Boston. We will board our boat at 11:35 am and sail out to see the Tall Ships. We will return at 1:15 pm and head to the Cheesecake Factory in Cambridge for an included lunch. After lunch we will return home. The cost is $145.00 which includes the bus, the boat, meal at the Cheesecake Factory and bus driver tip. Deadline to sign up is June 4, 2026. Lewiston Senior Citizens Program Cancellation Policy: If the LSC trip cancellation is more than 14 days away from the date, a refund is given minus a $10 administration service charge. The 2.5% credit card use charge is nonrefundable.If the cancellation is within the 14-day period of the trip date without medical reason, there will be no refund. If LSC fills the spot with someone on the waitlist, reimbursement may be available. Trips are non-transferable. If you are a 2024 LSC Member there is an account set up for you already.-Click on the trip you are choosing.
