In an effort to promote healthy lifestyles the goal of this program is to encourage the area 50+ population to take advantage of the outdoors, get some exercise and eat healthy.Time:The Bates Walking Group will start walking starting in April on Mondays until mid June at 10:00 to 11:00. Location:We will meet at Bates College Campus on the right side of the Dining Services building at the red picnic tables and walk throughout the campus. Stephanie will lead a slower paced walk with available seating if needed.Those who choose to can end the sessions at Bates Dining Commons to take advantage of their lunch menu for $12. Basketball Program. He has dedicated his career to helping student-athletes grow both on and off the court, emphasizing fundamentals, teamwork, and personal development. Lewiston Recreation will be having volleyball this Spring for boys and girls & teaming up with Bates College Volleyball! Players will work on all the fundamentals & skills of the sport through various drills & game play! This program is geared towards new & beginner level players. We will be splitting up by grade groups when program begins after warm ups.3rd-10th Grade Volleyball Skills & Drills-Coaches: Bates College Coaches Carissa & Sachio along with current players of Bates.-When: Thursdays, April 16th to May 21st (No VB on Thurs. 4/30 or 5/7; Be on Wed. 4/29 & Tues. 5/5 instead)-Time: 5:30PM-7:00PM-Where: Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave. Lewiston, ME-Cost: $50/Residents; $60 Non-Resdients-Equipment: Comfortable clothes, gym shoes, water bottle, knee pads (recommended, but not required)

Lewiston Recreation offers 5 Adult Volleyball leagues of various levels of play. Only 1 person, typically the captain of the team, will need to register for a league. If you don't have a team, you can reach out to Tim Duchette at tduchette@lewistonmaine.gov to see if any current captains who have registered need a player OR join the Facebook groups for each league and join a team there. The 2 groups are called "COED B & C Volleyball" and "Lewiston RCO Volleyball."COED B Volleyball League This league, played on Wednesdays, is meant for veteran players of the sport that includes 1 practice week where you will scrimmage against another team. This is then followed by a competitive 10 week regular season and a 2 week single elimination playoffs to decide who the League Champs are! Location:We will meet at Bates College Campus on the right side of the Dining Services building at the red picnic tables and walk throughout the campus. Stephanie will lead a slower paced walk with available seating if needed.Those who choose to can end the sessions at Bates Dining Commons to take advantage of their lunch menu for $12. Basketball Program. He has dedicated his career to helping student-athletes grow both on and off the court, emphasizing fundamentals, teamwork, and personal development. 2026-2027 Dynasty Elite All-Stars of LewistonCheerleaders will compete in cheer meets throughout New England and beyond, will have 2-3 practices per week from May- until April 2027, along with Monday night tumbling classes. Accepting age groups from Novice to Seniors.Ages: Must be born on or before 12/31/2023Location: Lewiston Armory – Drill Room/Gym depending on program and availabilityDates/Times:Parent Meeting: May 12 in the Lewiston Armory Gymnasium at 6:00 PMMay 19 and 26: Tryouts from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PMJune 2: Teams are announcedJune 15: Practices Begin! Tue/Thu 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM, Sunday afternoons, and Monday night tumbling. Cost: R $1,600/ NR $1,650Program cost includes uniform, sneakers, competition fees, practice fees, and administrative costs.  $200 deposit is due at the time of registration. Families are responsible for making monthly payments to the Lewiston Recreation Department. Families who are not making monthly payments will not be allowed to participate. Come on down to the Armory on Thursday mornings for our toddler open gym! Featuring toddler friendly gross motor equipment, mini basketball equipment, and our brand new imagination playground! Imagination playground has over 100 blocks in different shapes to help exercise your imagination, gross motor skills, and engineering skills! Families are responsible for making monthly payments to the Lewiston Recreation Department. Families who are not making monthly payments will not be allowed to participate.
