In an effort to promote healthy lifestyles the goal of this program is to encourage the area 50+ population to take advantage of the outdoors, get some exercise and eat healthy.Time:The Bates Walking Group will start walking again Friday Sept.5th until mid Oct. at 10:00 to 11:00. Location:We will meet at Bates College Campus on the right side of the Dining Services building at the red picnic tables and walk throughout the campus. Stephanie will lead a slower paced walk with available seating if needed.Those who choose to can end the sessions at Bates Dining Commons to take advantage of their lunch menu for $12. Youth Travel Volleyball Season - Jr. Blue Devils - Middle School Travel Volleyball Join the Lewiston Recreation Department this Fall as we begin our first year of Middle School Travel Volleyball! This program is for players who are interested in the sport and want to grow their skills where they will practice twice a week and then we will look to schedule games/play days with other towns throughout the season!

Cost: $10 per Player
All players will register individually. In the registration, there will be a question to include who your partner is.
Tournament Level: All teams can be made up of male/male, female/female or male/female. The goal is for everyone to have fun playing pickleball while dressing up on Halloween!
Doubles Beginner: Those who are still new to the game and looking for a slower pace.
Doubles Advance: Those who have been playing for awhile and up for the challenge of faster pace game.
There will be a max of 12 teams per level. If a level does not fill up, but there is a waiting list in the other level, we will add you in.
We will then split the 12 teams in 2 pools where you will play round robin with those in your pool.
Top 4 of each pool will then move on into the playoffs which will lead to the winners of each pool facing off to play in a Championship Match!
All matches will be played to 11, win by 2 except for the championship matches which will be played to 15, win by 2.

Location:We will meet at Bates College Campus on the right side of the Dining Services building at the red picnic tables and walk throughout the campus. Stephanie will lead a slower paced walk with available seating if needed.Those who choose to can end the sessions at Bates Dining Commons to take advantage of their lunch menu for $12. Adult League: Volleyball - Reverse COED A Volleyball League Lewiston Recreation offers 5 Adult Volleyball leagues of various levels of play. Only 1 person, typically the captain of the team, will need to register for a league. If you don't have a team, you can reach out to Tim Duchette at tduchette@lewistonmaine.gov to see if any current captains who have registered need a player OR join the Facebook groups for each league and join a team there. The 2 groups are called "COED B & C Volleyball" and "Lewiston RCO Volleyball."COED B Volleyball League This league, played on Wednesdays, is meant for veteran players of the sport that includes 1 practice week where you will scrimmage against another team. This is then followed by a competitive 10 week regular season and a 2 week single elimination playoffs to decide who the League Champs are! We offer both a Fall/Winter Season (Oct. to Mid Jan.) & a Winter/Spring (Late Jan. to Mid April). Adult League: Volleyball - Reverse COED A Volleyball League Lewiston Recreation offers 5 Adult Volleyball leagues of various levels of play. Only 1 person, typically the captain of the team, will need to register for a league. If you don't have a team, you can reach out to Tim Duchette at tduchette@lewistonmaine.gov to see if any current captains who have registered need a player OR join the Facebook groups for each league and join a team there. The 2 groups are called "COED B & C Volleyball" and "Lewiston RCO Volleyball."COED B Volleyball League This league, played on Wednesdays, is meant for veteran players of the sport that includes 1 practice week where you will scrimmage against another team. This is then followed by a competitive 10 week regular season and a 2 week single elimination playoffs to decide who the League Champs are! We offer both a Fall/Winter Season (Oct. to Mid Jan.) & a Winter/Spring (Late Jan. to Mid April). Game start times are 7:15PM, 8:15PM or 9:15PM.Game ScheduleCOED C Volleyball League This league, played on Wednesdays, is meant for those who are new or still learning the sport of volleyball which includes 1 practice week where you scrimmage against another team.
