FEE:Free -Sign in required upon entrance to gym Nordic Walking ( The walking polls loaner program is full but if you have your own polls and would like to join us please feel free.)Start date has been changed to 9/11/26Another grant money opportunity was presented to us and we are all in! The Lewiston Senior Advisory Council has also donated grant money to purchase walking sticks. Nordic walking sticks are used to extend your arms and engage the upper body, turning a regular walk into a full-body exercise. They help increase forward propulsion, improve posture, reduce joint stress, and enhance cardiovascular fitness while walking outdoors. We are looking for fourteen 50+ participants to sign up for this series of walks. The walking sticks will be loaned to you for approximately 6weeks to take home as well attend these 45-minute walks once a week. This is a free program, and the walks will start off at Bates College for the first 2 weeks and the following 4 weeks will be at differentlocations. Afterschool at the Armory is a free, flexible open gym opportunity for Lewiston students in grades 7-12.When: Wednesdays and ThursdaysTime: 2:15 PM - 4:00 PMWho: Any Lewiston student in grades 7-12.This program WILL fill. We accept a total of 80 registrants for the school year.TO REGISTER: Teens can collect a paper registration form at the Lewiston Recreation Department. This needs to be completed by a parent and returned before participation in the program. New and returning participants must complete this form.Participants are expected to treat other players, recreation staff, and the facility with respect. If a participant can not meet these expectations, they will not be allowed to participate.

Join the Lewiston Recreation Department this Fall as we begin our second year of Middle School Travel Volleyball! This program is for players who are interested in the sport and want to grow their skills where they will practice twice a week and then we will look to schedule games/play days with other towns throughout the season!

Practice Dates: Mondays & Thursdays, Aug. 31 to Oct. 28th
No Practice Sept. 7th (Labor Day); Moved to Wednesday Sept. 9th at normal time.

Practice Location: Most days will be at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave, HOWEVER, depending on when the gym floor is being re-finished, practices will be held at Geiger for a week or 2.

They help increase forward propulsion, improve posture, reduce joint stress, and enhance cardiovascular fitness while walking outdoors. We are looking for fourteen 50+ participants to sign up for this series of walks. The walking sticks will be loaned to you for approximately 6weeks to take home as well attend these 45-minute walks once a week. This is a free program, and the walks will start off at Bates College for the first 2 weeks and the following 4 weeks will be at differentlocations. FEE:Free -Sign in required upon entrance to gym Nordic Walking ( The walking polls loaner program is full but if you have your own polls and would like to join us please feel free.)Start date has been changed to 9/11/26Another grant money opportunity was presented to us and we are all in! The Lewiston Senior Advisory Council has also donated grant money to purchase walking sticks. Nordic walking sticks are used to extend your arms and engage the upper body, turning a regular walk into a full-body exercise. They help increase forward propulsion, improve posture, reduce joint stress, and enhance cardiovascular fitness while walking outdoors. We are looking for fourteen 50+ participants to sign up for this series of walks. The walking sticks will be loaned to you for approximately 6weeks to take home as well attend these 45-minute walks once a week. This is a free program, and the walks will start off at Bates College for the first 2 weeks and the following 4 weeks will be at differentlocations. FEE:Free -Sign in required upon entrance to gym Nordic Walking ( The walking polls loaner program is full but if you have your own polls and would like to join us please feel free.)Start date has been changed to 9/11/26Another grant money opportunity was presented to us and we are all in! The Lewiston Senior Advisory Council has also donated grant money to purchase walking sticks. Nordic walking sticks are used to extend your arms and engage the upper body, turning a regular walk into a full-body exercise. They help increase forward propulsion, improve posture, reduce joint stress, and enhance cardiovascular fitness while walking outdoors. We are looking for fourteen 50+ participants to sign up for this series of walks. The walking sticks will be loaned to you for approximately 6weeks to take home as well attend these 45-minute walks once a week. This is a free program, and the walks will start off at Bates College for the first 2 weeks and the following 4 weeks will be at differentlocations. The Lewiston Senior Advisory Council has also donated grant money to purchase walking sticks. Nordic walking sticks are used to extend your arms and engage the upper body, turning a regular walk into a full-body exercise. They help increase forward propulsion, improve posture, reduce joint stress, and enhance cardiovascular fitness while walking outdoors. We are looking for fourteen 50+ participants to sign up for this series of walks. The walking sticks will be loaned to you for approximately 6weeks to take home as well attend these 45-minute walks once a week. This is a free program, and the walks will start off at Bates College for the first 2 weeks and the following 4 weeks will be at differentlocations. Girls Got Game is all about having fun, building confidence, and discovering the excitement of being active!Each week, participants will take part in a variety of games, challenges, and activities inspired by different sports and physical education favorites. Lewiston Recreation offers 5 Adult Volleyball leagues of various levels of play. Only 1 person, typically the captain of the team, will need to register for a league. If you don't have a team, you can reach out to Tim Duchette at tduchette@lewistonmaine.gov to see if any current captains who have registered need a player OR join the Facebook groups for each league and join a team there. The 2 groups are called "COED B & C Volleyball" and "Lewiston RCO Volleyball."COED B Volleyball League This league, played on Wednesdays, is meant for veteran players of the sport that includes 1 practice week where you will scrimmage against another team. This is then followed by a competitive 10 week regular season and a 2 week single elimination playoffs to decide who the League Champs are! We offer both a Fall/Winter Season (Oct. to Mid Jan.) & a Winter/Spring (Late Jan. to Mid April). FEE:Free -Sign in required upon entrance to gym Nordic Walking ( The walking polls loaner program is full but if you have your own polls and would like to join us please feel free.)Start date has been changed to 9/11/26Another grant money opportunity was presented to us and we are all in! The Lewiston Senior Advisory Council has also donated grant money to purchase walking sticks. Nordic walking sticks are used to extend your arms and engage the upper body, turning a regular walk into a full-body exercise. They help increase forward propulsion, improve posture, reduce joint stress, and enhance cardiovascular fitness while walking outdoors. We are looking for fourteen 50+ participants to sign up for this series of walks. The walking sticks will be loaned to you for approximately 6weeks to take home as well attend these 45-minute walks once a week. This is a free program, and the walks will start off at Bates College for the first 2 weeks and the following 4 weeks will be at differentlocations.
